How/why did you get started at KED/SFC? I have spent much of my personal life doing philanthropic work in and around Western New York. As a teen I volunteered for numerous charitable organizations including the Susan Komen Foundation, Bald for Bucks, the Boys and Girls Club of WNY, Love Your Melon and many more. After multiple years of teaching, I decided to follow my heart back to charitable work, and I began working at KED in September of 2025 as a Face2Face Program Specialist at Kids Escaping Drugs.
How do you connect with KED's mission? I think providing substance use education for at risk teens, supporting families that are affected by substance use, and engaging in community outreach is very important.
What are you most looking forward to about KED/SFC? I'm most looking forward to working directly with schools, students & their families. I hope to create change at the individual and community level; providing vital education that keeps students themselves & others safe. I am excited to make connections with as many school leaders and community members as possible, while sharing my science background & knowledge with everyone in Buffalo!
What is something that always makes you smile? Cute animals doing something silly (especially cats)
What is something on your bucket list? Travel to all 7 continents (including Antarctica!)
What quote sticks with you? “Sometimes you don’t get what you want because you deserve better.”
