How/why did you get started with KED?
I was looking to shift my career into more mission-driven, impactful work. When I saw that KED was looking to fill the Marketing and Events Director role, it felt like the perfect fit. My thought was, “You mean to tell me I can use my marketing and communications experience to help our kids? Say no more!”
How do you connect with KED’s mission? Nearly everyone has been impacted by substance use or addiction in some way. I believe our youth deserve the best chance at living happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives, and part of that comes from making informed decisions. By providing youth with the tools they need to make those decisions, along with judgment-free support no matter where they are in their journey, we can make a positive impact.
What are you most looking forward to about KED? I'm most excited about helping spread the word about the incredible work KED is doing for our youth. My goal is to make sure more young people, families, and educators know about these resources and feel empowered to use them.
What quotes have you heard that have stuck with you? "No matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind." and "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans."
Ranch or Blue Cheese? Blue cheese for life. Specifically, Rooties. I think more people need to know about Rooties blue cheese.
What was your dream job as a child? When I was a kid, I wanted to be an actress—and by that I mean Lucille Ball—or a stand-up comedian. Maybe in my next life.
