Get to Know Nathan!

What are you studying? 

I am a double major studying health and human services and psychology. Once I get my undergraduate, I would like to go back to school to get my masters in social work after a few years off.

Where are you from?

I am from Derby NY, located in the Southtowns of Buffalo.

What drew you to interning with KED? 

My internship advisor told me that she had a student who interned at KED before and they had a really amazing experience with it. She advertised it very well and I thought applying there would be a positive choice for getting experience with what I want to go into.

What do you hope to learn/work on at KED? 

I want to work on my communication skills and learn as much as I can about how organizations like KED function. I also want to gain insight if this is something I'm interested in, or if I should pivot to a different sector of helping.

What is something that is on your bucket list?  

I really want to travel the country in my 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan the summer after my last year of undergraduate. I always wanted to travel, and I think that would be an amazing reward for myself.

What is something that always makes you smile? My sister, she is a little punk, like I once was (still might be) and I love her for that. 

Ranch or Blue Cheese? 

If I exclude spicy ranch, blue cheese is the clear winner.

Flats or drumsticks?

I work at a pizzeria and my first year there I worked solely on the wing corner. Needless to say, but I got a lot of free wings. Buffalo wings are the best food around. I do enjoy drums more. Not really sure why, but it feels "cooler" to eat.

If you could time travel, where would you go, and what would you see?

I would probably go back to the dark ages of Greece that produced the mythologies in later years. I'll see where the mythologies came from and if they were somewhat true or not.

What’s the number one thing you wish more people knew about you?  

I do try to be sarcastic, but I am not very good at it.

What was your dream job as a child? 

It was an astronaut. As a kid, it sounded like one of the best jobs you could have. You could see the earth from space, an experience that very few see in person. I would daydream about it a lot.
